Datalogic india manufactures the formula 720 pocket radio scanner which is a lightweight, portable cordless laser scanner with many interesting features. While working like traditional laser gun supported by cables for transmitting data to pcs, terminals, pos or cash registers, this device exploits smart radio technology to transmit its data in purely wireless fashion. Data transfer is both automatic and completely safe, the latter an essential feature achieved by a special two-way protocol. In this way, the scanner communicates with its radio transceiver charger, the formula 95 i/ rf, over a range of up to 15-20 metres. This system, which normally caters to the rs-232 serial port connection for pcs, pos or cash registers, also supports pc or ps/ 2 keyboard emulation as well as many other host terminals.
